The Bend Trap Club was created in the early 1900's as an auxiliary organization of the Bend Rod and Gun Club. The Bend Rod and Gun Club was formed by a group of hunters, fishermen and shooters and was actively involved with helping state and local officials manage game, create preserves, stock rivers and recommend hunting and fishing regulations. The earliest documented activities of the Bend Gun Club were newspaper articles from January 1913 mentioning the club had supported the 1912 state trap shoot.

The Bend Trap Club has undergone many changes during its long history. The most recent  change was the relocation to the present day Millican site - located 28 miles east of Bend on 280 acres, boasting 10 regulation trap fields, one combination Skeet/Trap overlay and a 5-Stand/Skeet field. The first registered shoot on the new site was held in 2008.
